Incident – Supernumerary baby tooth

The little girl visited the doctor’s office in order to inform the family about the „strange“ tooth that recently appeared in the child’s mouth and they were shocked by its strange morphology. After taking a panoramic radiograph and informing the parents about supernumerary tooth / incisor, the parents and the child have no reason to worry.

This particular mother visited the doctor’s office because she was quite frightened after the appearance of this particular tooth. „The baby tooth fell out and this strange tooth appeared in its place!“, he characteristically said during the examination. In fact, incisors have a distinct and special morphology compared to the rest of normal teeth. They are supernumerary teeth, so it is normal for them not to have the usual tooth shape. After fully informing the mother about incisor / supernumerary tooth, child and parents left the clinic reassured and happy.

Many times a child can hurt his gum without realizing it. In this specific incident, the child accidentally injured his gum with his pencil without remembering it. His parents were worried for no reason, because after gentle brushing and avoiding further injury the irritation subsided within a week.

Incident – Daily care of children’s teeth

The parent should supervise the child during brushing until the age of 8 – 9 years.
