The patient had two large old amalgam fillings, which she wanted to replace with all-ceramic trays. Before any prosthetic restoration of the teeth it was necessary to repeat denervation in the first molar, as the old denervation was incomplete in length. Also, during the opening of the tooth after the removal of the black filling, the existence of a fourth root was established which had not been found nor prepared during the first attempt to denerve the tooth. The proximal root of the tooth was calcified and could not be prepared in full length.
